These terms are an agreement between you and PhomoTech ("we", "us") about your use of FocusGate, listed on Google Play as "Focus & Screen Time Tracker" (package com.coroutinelab.focusgate). Please read them together with the privacy policy.
Agreeing to these terms
By installing or using FocusGate you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for digital consent where you live.
What FocusGate is (and isn't)
FocusGate helps you notice and reduce the time you spend in distracting apps: it can pause apps, block websites, set limits and track your habits. It is a self-help tool. It is not a medical, psychological or parental-control product, and it is not a substitute for professional advice. Blocking depends on Android permissions and settings that your phone or Android itself can turn off, so it may not always work, for example after an update or when the battery saver stops the app.
Your responsibilities
- Use FocusGate only on your own device, or on a device you are allowed to manage, and never to monitor someone else without their consent.
- Keep your phone and its permissions secure.
- Don't rely on FocusGate where a missed block or reminder could cause harm, such as for safety, medical or work-critical alerts.
Premium subscriptions
Some features need a Premium subscription. Subscriptions are bought and managed through Google Play and renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions; you keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for. If we offer a free trial, you are charged when it ends unless you cancel before then. Prices are shown in Google Play before you buy and may change; Google Play will tell you before a new price applies. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy, except where the law where you live says otherwise.
Acceptable use
Don't copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app; don't try to get around Premium, Lock mode or other features; and don't use the app to break the law or to interfere with other people or with the services FocusGate relies on.
Our app and content
The FocusGate app, its name, Paws, the designs, animations and text belong to PhomoTech. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on your devices under these terms. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the app without any obligation to you.
Third-party services
FocusGate relies on services from other companies, including Google Play, Superwall, PostHog and Supabase. Your use of Google Play is also covered by Google's terms. We aren't responsible for those services, but we choose them carefully.
Changes and availability
We may add, change or remove features, including which ones are part of Premium, and we may stop offering the app. If we stop offering Premium while you have an active subscription, we will tell you and follow Google Play's rules for refunds.
No warranty
FocusGate is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that it will block every app, website or distraction, or that it will help you reach a particular goal.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, PhomoTech is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, time or opportunities, arising from your use of FocusGate. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for FocusGate in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
Ending these terms
You can stop using FocusGate at any time by uninstalling it (cancel any subscription in Google Play separately). We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use FocusGate after a change means you accept the updated terms.
